Gosh Yellow Doll Nail Varnish

I was in my local pharmacy a couple of weeks ago and saw a bargain basket and they had this one bottle of Gosh nail varnish in it at 1/2 price. When I saw it my first impression was ick. It looks like greeny yellow vomit and not a colour that I particularly would want on my nails. However, I then came to the realisation that I have no yellow nail varnish. With the season that's in it, I said feck it and bought to see how it would turn out. I also recently saw a post by Fitz n Bitz all about things yellow and since then I've been meaning to try yellow colours out more

I was surprisingly impressed with the colour. Instead of looking like somebody had gotten sick on my nails it looked like a lovely banana yellow. The pictures really don't do the colour justice, it's not as green-toned in real life. Gosh nail colours are really hard to capture in photos.
Application was really good. I was apprensive applying it after Gosh Peachy turned out to be a nightmare to apply. This glided on so smooth and dried really fast. It wasn't goopy or too thin or too thick. Dare I go as far as to say it was perfect. I've had it on the last 3 days and absolutely no sign of chipping.

I don't know if it's because I've never worn yellow nail varnish before but every time I glanced at my nails, the colour just freaked me out or something (I know that's really weird) so I decided to try out a little bit of nail art. I haven't really ventured into nail art too much, I tried water marbling before which bombed abysmally and I tried another one that was just simple stripes (I'll post it soon) so I wanted to do something quite basic and what's more basic than dots.

I don't have any nail art tools so it was a toothpick that was chosen object (albeit with a cute ladybird on top:D) and I used a bun case to drop some nail varnish in so that I wouldn't mess the place up! The white used was OPI's Alpine Snow.

And this is how it turned out! I was actually really pleased with my attempt and can't wait to try out some more nail art:)
