MAC Glamourdaze and Innocence Lipsticks

I’ve spaced out from most of the MAC collections since summer because if I didn’t I would want way too much from all of them! However, I sneaked a peek at their Holiday collections, the Glamourdaze one in particular. After checking numerous swatches online I decided to get two of the lipsticks – Glamourdaze and Innocence, when I was in Dublin last week. I was in a rush so I didn’t even get a chance to scout out the rest of the collection, I just asked for the what I had planned to get - this was probably the better option for my wallet as well hah!

Innocence Lipstick

I had fallen in love with Innocence from online swatches and when I saw it in the tube, in person, I had fleeting doubts. Once swatched and applied though, I knew I made the right decision. It’s so much more than just a nude lipstick. It’s a light peach with gold shimmer and it looks amazing on the lips. 

If you find it diffult to wear a nude lip, Innocence just night work for you instead.

The second lipstick I got was Glamourdaze, which is a mauve pink and essentially another ‘my lips but better shade’ which quite frankly, I don’t think you can ever have enough of.

My Favourite Summer Lipsticks

As we come to the end of summer, I decided to do a post on my favourite bright lipsticks that I wore  during summer. We didn't get too many sunny days this year, these photos were taken on one of the rare days the sun made an appearance!

What were your favourite lipsticks this summer?

YSL Rouge Volupte: No. 7 Lingerie Pink

I have been wanting to try one of the YSL lipsticks for quite a while. Eventually I settled on a lipstick from their Rouge Volupte range, in the shade No. 7 Lingerie Pink.

In colour, it is what I would consider a milky pink.

Sunlight Swatch

The formula is quite creamy and slightly thick, so only a little needs to be applied. Wear time was quite reasonable, a few hours. The lipstick is very moisturising and it certainly isn't drying.

 

One of the things I love about this lipstick is the smell! It has to be one of the nicest smelling lipsticks I own. It's a kind of fresh, fruity smell but not overpoweringly so. 

Have you tried out any of the YSL lipsticks? Any colour recommendations? 

My First Chanel Lipstick!

My very first Chanel lipstick! I was on the look out for a mid-toned pink lipstick for a while now and when I spotted Boy I knew it was perfect.

As this is my first Chanel lipstick I don’t know what the other types are like, but the Rouge Coco Shine is a very moisturising lipstick.

The colour wasn’t the most long-lasting but for me personally, having to re-apply lipstick isn’t a big deal.

Have you tried any of the Chanel lipsticks? Any recommendations?

 

MAC Lipstick in Watch Me Simmer

MAC Watch Me Simmer lipstick is a recent purchase from their MAC Shop MAC Cook collection. I’ve gone mad buying bright, intense pink lipsticks recently, I think it’s because they’re so fun and summery!

I have a weird foundation line around my lips - eh?

Watch Me Simmer is a warm coral toned pink. It is very pigmented and a little bit of colour goes a long way.

MAC Lipstick In Viva Glam Nicki

The Viva Glam lipstick for this year is in collaboration with Nicki Manji and Ricky Martin with the former releasing Viva Glam Nicki and the latter a pink-tined lip conditioner.

I picked up Viva Glam Nicki. It is a warm, bright pink but I feel it can still be worn reasonably muted therefore suitable for daytime. This lipstick is a satin finish so it glides on easily.

The swatches below are of  a medium to high intensity. 

I love this bright, warm pink. Perfect to wear with Summer just around the corner.

Mac Innocence, Beware Lipstick

I think I have found my favourite nude lipstick...ever! I have a couple of nude lipsticks that I quite like but Innocence, Beware is really something special.

The centre swatch is a swatch of Innocence, Beware.

A light nude, this also has a slight shimmer to it which really lifts the colour. I find that a lot of nude lipsticks can look flat on the lips which is why I think the addition of shimmer in Innocence, Beware makes me love it so much more. It gives my lips depth and doesn't erase them!

MAC Lipstick in Dish It Up

Dish It Up came out with the recent Mac Shop Mac Cook collection.

As soon as I saw swatches of it I was instantly drawn to it. It is a purple lipstick and while I love wearing a bright red lip, I've never quite been able to pluck up the courage to purchase a purple lipstick. Dish It Up is a lustre finish so I felt that it was the perfect introductory purple lipstick.

A light wash on the lips

This lipstick is by no means void of colour. I love that you can just have a tint of colour to your lips or you can pack the colour on a bit more. Now, as it's a lustre you are never going to get full coverage from it but then it's not expected to give full coverage.

Any purple lipstick recommendations for me?
