MAC MSF in Superb and MAC Immortal Flower Blush

This blush and highlighter duo have been a favourite peachy cheek look of mine for a while.   While both items were limited edition products from MAC this year (Immortal Flower from Tres Cheek and Superb from Extra Dimension) Superb is currently been repromoted with the Glamourdaze Holiday collection.

Superb is a strongly pigmented, rose-gold type shade with plenty of peach undertones. A little goes a long way but it gives the most incredible sheen to cheeks, especially layered over a matte peach blush like Immortal Flower.

If you missed out on Superb earlier this year, now is the time to get it!

Speaking of the Holiday collections has anybody gotten anything yet? I have my eye on a few lipsticks from Glamourdaze, so many pretty ones! And the lip bag sets are so cute!

Estée Lauder Pure Colour Blush: Witty Peach

I never passed any notice of many of Esteé Lauder products. It just seemed like an ‘old’ brand or too mature or something. However when I saw EssieButton with this Pure Colour Blush in Witty Peach, it was instant lust.

When I checked to see if it was available on the House of Fraser website, it turned out that they were having a 2 day only sale with up to 40% off selected brands. If I recall correctly most beauty brands had 10-20% off and EL was included! Well, that just ensured that I was meant to get it!

Witty Peach certainly did not disappoint when it arrived. Firstly the packaging of the compact is sheer luxury. So elegant and beautiful.

The blush itself is an ombre blush going from light peach to pinky coral. It is of satin finish so it leaves a beautiful healthy sheen on your skin. It is pigmented but not so extreme that caution is needed when using it. It creates a lovely summery effect on my cheeks. Not quite a flush, more of a glow.

I don’t think this is a limited edition product but if you are considering a blush from Estée Lauder, this is a good choice.  It is £24 on the HoF website.

Some Blush/Highlighter Hybrids

When I was gathering my highlighters for this post, I realised I have a number of products that are too blush toned to be considered true highlighters, yet have enough of a sheen to be much more than a blush.

This is what I call my hybrids. Sometimes I use them over a blush to give that extra oomph and other times I just use them alone to give a slight colour but to also highlight. They can be a quick go-to product.

MAC MSF in Redhead: This was a MSF that I heard a lot about and when it was re-released with the Naturally collection this year I made sure to pick it up. Made up of a trio of shades, it creates a soft, bronzed toned red with a strong sheen.

NARS Illuminator in Orgasm: This is my only liquid highlighter. It is quite golden toned and has a satiny finish.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz: Probably the most pigmented hybrid. There is a lot of browns in it but a light sweep will create a glowing effect.

Benefit Coralista

Ah, Coralista how I love you. This stunning coral, is the epitome of summer.

Jam-packed with a golden shimmer, every time I wear this I feel like it gives you such a glow- no additional highlighter needed!

It is very pigmented, probably the most pigmented of all the Benefit blushes I have. 

As usual the top swatch is the heavier one and the bottom is just a light wash.

Anybody else longing for summer?

Benefit Dandelion

Dandelion is a beautiful soft, peachy pink shade with a hint of golden shimmer. 

It is a very warming blush, and my favourite of all my Benefit blushes

I think the Benefit blushes are all really wearable and I think they are my favourite of all the different blushes I have.

Benefit Throbb

Another Benefit boxed blush today, it's Thrrrobs turn.

I rushed out and got this when I heard it was going to be discontinued. I've  already missed out on Georgia Peach and I didn't want the same thing to happen with Thrrrob!

Thrrrob is a very light, cool-toned pink. It's ideal when you just want the lightest swish of colour on your cheeks, very subtle.

You can see how faint it is here in the swatches (Heavier swatch on top, lighter one below). 

It is a very wearable colour for me but I suspect that it might look kind of ashy on darker skintones (if it even shows up!) 

Even though most blushes are buildable, I'm glad to have a paler blush that will stay relatively light, no chance of messing it up!

Benefit Bella Bamba

Bella Bamba was actually my first boxed blush from Benefit.

It's a warm pink, often described as a watermelon coloured blush. Although it looks quite bright in the pan, it does go on a lot lighter. It is also a shimmery blush but I feel that it is still wearable as it is not laden with shimmer.

Top swatch is a heavy swatch and bottom one is just a light wash of colour. 

As you can see, you can really deepen the blush if you want. Yet, because it initially goes on quite light and is buildable, I feel it makes it a very versatile blush.
