Purple Panic!

At this stage I have nearly all my nail varnishes swatched. I was up to date but then I bought more and I haven't gotten around to getting photos of them yet! Anyway, I thought every so often I would to a post on a certain colour but mish-mash of brands. Also as I've been doing the swatches for a while my nail length varies as does my polish painting skills and my photography abilities!
Today it's the turn of some purples. Enjoy!

Wet n Wild No Name Purple

Revlon Purple Night

Claire's No Name Purple

Sephora Wanna Be A Star

Catrice Dirty Berry

Sally Hansen HD DVD

Catrice Forget Me Not

Nubar Violet Sparkle

Any favourites? I think mine have to be the 2 Catrice ones and the Claire's one.

31 Day Nail Challenge - Day 18

Day 18

Today's theme was a half moon manicure. And it was a slight fail (not epic this time!) It was another first for me and I thought it would be really easy and it was to an extent. At least I know where I went wrong!
Firstly, I was too impatient to wait for the first coat to dry properly and then I put on the second polish  way to heavy handedly leading to a big gloopy mess which wasn't really aided by the addition of a coat of Seche Vite that is now as thick as curdled cream.

My second mistake was the stickers I used. I couldn't find the binder hole reinforcer ones that everybody recommends so I used some circle stickers that I had which I use to label the back of depotted mac eyeshadows. Yeah, these were too big and not really snug enough around my nail to create the desired half moon effect.

So the result is a mani that looks fairly decent from afar and kind of okay close-up.
Another one for me to practice!!

I used:
GOSH Metallic Green (The half moon bit)
Nubar Reclaim (The rest of the nail)

31 Day Nail Challenge - Day 14

Day 14

T.G.I.F.!! This has been the longest work week ever. I thought today would never come! Anybody doing anything exciting for the weekend? I've no major plans yet, but who know's what'll happen:)

The theme for today is flowers. I took out my dotting tool and for the first time tried to create something that was supposed to resemble something, not just random dots.
For somebody who still has a long way to go with improving nail art, I was very happy with this attempt. At least people recoginised that they were supposed to be flowers!

Apologies that I only have one picture of this, I took loads of photos and this was the best of a bad lot. I just can't seem to get my camera to work the way I want it to. (And no I don't leave it on auto and hope for the best.....maybe I should lol!)

What I used:

L-R
Nubar Violet Sparkle (Flower Petals)
GOSH Yellow Doll (Centre of Flowers)
Rimmel Pop Rose (Flower Petals)
Barry M Spring Green (Base)
