Barry M Chameleon Polishes

I had about these in the blogging world and picked up 2 on my last trip to Boots. The promise of colour changing polish is intriguing.

First up is Chameleon Pink. The polish applied wonderfully and was opaque in one coat. Always a bonus. It tried super quick as well, which I was surprised about as the formula was relatively thick. Love the finish of it and how it looks.

Now onto the ‘Chameleon’ part. You add a clear topcoat to change the colour. I just put any random blob on my nails to see how it would work. And it turned out ok. The intensity of the colour change varied on all the nails and I don’t really know why.

I think you would want to use a nail art brush for creating any kind of decent design. The Zoya topcoat brush that I was using wasn’t too keen on co-operating!

Chameleon Lilac went the exact same way as Chameleon Pink; expect that it is of course a different colour. Formula etc. was the exact same and worked flawlessly.

Overall the whole ‘Chameleon Changing’ thing is a bit meh to me, I’m not pushed about it. However the actual polishes and shades themselves really impressed me. I would highly recommend them in that regard.

Barry M Pink Flamingo

What a delicious pink crème! I adore this shade.  This was 2 coats and applied easily. This shade of pink reminds me of those summer evenings at the end of August when the fun of summer is just coming to the end but you’re making the most of it. Late nights chilling out, cooling down skin that has been warmed by sun all day long, before getting ready to go out and dance the night away. (We usually get at least one day like this in Ireland!)

And of course I couldn’t write about a Pink Flamingo polish without including one of my favourite songs of the same name!

Barry M Navy

I do love a good navy/deep blue polish and Barry M Navy was my very first one. It was purchased pre-addiction days.

It provides very good coverage in just two coats.

I love the sheen it gives when the light hits it. Sapphire like.

Barry M Berry Ice Cream

Cheap and cheerful, I love Barry M nail varnishes. This is Berry Ice Cream and it a very pretty light purple shade. Maybe just a tad darker than a pastel.

Application was spot on and this was two coats I believe.

My Spring 2012 Nail Polish Picks

In some ways it doesn't seem like Spring. Maybe because the last while there has been way more dreary, heavy, grey filled days than those with clear-skies. Or else it's because we didn't have to emerge from sub-zero temperatures this year, so it didn't feel like such a change. Regardless of what it feels like, it is in fact Spring so I thought I would show you some of my favourite Spring colours! Some of these are older colours and some are from S/S 12 collections:)

L-R Dior Waterlily, OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, Essie Navigate Her and Essie Turquoise&Caicos.

L-R China Glaze Sea Spray, Kinetic Candy and For Audrey.

L-R OPI Pink Friday, Catrice Sweets For My Sweet and Gosh Yellow Doll.

L-R Barry M Berry Ice Cream, OPI Do You Lilac It?(Top),OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender (Bottom) and Zoya Marley.

L-R OPI Melon of Troy, Barry M Peach Melba, Chanel June, Essie A Crewed Interest and Essie Topless and Barefoot.

So those are my picks for this Spring. What's your favourite colours to wear in Spring?

Glorious Greens

Another random batch of swatches today. This time one of my favourite colours- green!

China Glaze Tree Hugger
A gorgeous grass green.

OPI Jade is the New Black
What I would consider a 'true green'

Revlon Ocean Breeze
This is a very bluey green but when compared to blues the green tinge wins out! A beautiful metallic laced with shimmer.

Barry M Spring Green
It is indeed a bright spring green, leaning a bit minty perhaps? Spearmint:)

China Glaze Cha Cha Cha
Argh so beautiful! Another stunning metallic with yellow undertones

GOSH Metallic Green
Yet another metallic. I love this shade of green as it is so cool-toned.

China Glaze It's Alive
A green yellow glitter, with hints of black scattered throughout.

You can't beat a good green:)

Barry M Dusky Mauve

Wednesday night already! Christmas is this weekend, yay! Hope everybody is all prepared:) (or nearly prepared!)

Time for more Barry M love! Today's polish is called Dusky Mauve.

My pictures are showing it up to be very brown, but in the very last picture you can see the purple throughout the bottle, which does somewhat reflect on the nails.

Dusky Mauve has been hailed as the dupe to Chanel's Paradoxal. I don't personally own Paradoxal so I can't compare it myself but from looking at comparison swatches online, it does seem to be true!

Barry M - Raspberry

Happy Friday everyone! I'm so so excited for this weekend. I'm going to see Breaking Dawn tonight and have a massive night out planned for tomorrow night. And I'm off all weekend! Going to get a load of blog posts prepared as well and make a start on my Christmas shopping:) Busy busy!

Today's post is just going to be a quick nail post. It's one of the nail polishes that was featured in this post about my A/W 11 nail polish picks.

I've really gotten to love Barry M nail varnishes the last while. They have a great colour selection and are so cheap! I've found that they apply well and I don't think I've come across an overly sheer one yet, they all seem to be opaque very quick.

Raspberry is a beautiful deep pinky red, with no glitter or shimmer in it, just a solid creme finish.
