OPI Gargantuan Green Grape

OPI's Gargantuan Green Grape is a fabulous bright green. It's a strange kind of colour to describe as I don't see it as a mint shade. It is pale yet vibrant. 

Whilst it didn't seem sheer to apply, you can still see some nail line after 2 coats. I think I may wear this over white next to see if that results in a cleaner finish.

Still, Gargantuan Green Grape is a perfect colour to wear this time of year.

Essie Navigate Her

Happy Easter Sunday! I hope everyone got loads of lovely Easter Eggs:) Today is perfect to post a lovely Spring/Eastery shade.

Essie's Navigate Her hails from their S/S 2012 collection.

I was instantly drawn to this pistachio green shade and I wasn't disappointed in how stunning the colour is on the nails.

 

Formula wasn't the best ever. It ended up slightly lumpy but I think that was mainly my own fault by not letting the first coat dry for long enough.

Dior Waterlily

St. Patrick's Day could not pass without me showcasing a green nail polish! 

Dior Waterlily is a a new release as part of Dior's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. It is also my first ever nail varnish from Dior.

Waterlily is a light green nail varnish complete with subtle shimmer. There is definitely no blue in this green, yet I don't see a lot of yellow or brown in it. It really is just green.

 

This is also a scented polish but thankfully it's not a strong sickly sweet scent. It faintly smells of roses when the polish dries which isn't too bad at all.

As this was my first Dior nail polish I wasn't sure what the formula and application would be like. Thankfully it is a very workable formula, being neither too thin or thick. It applied lovely in two coats and wasn't streaky. 

Any Dior favourites? I feel I never really hear a lot about them!

31 Day Nail Challenge - Day 10

Day 10

The challenge for today's nails was gradient nails. I was looking forward to this as I've never actually tried gradient nails. I was unsure whether to go for the gradient effect on each individual nail or for each nail to be a solid colour with the gradient working it's way across the hand i.e. lightest colour to darkest. In the end I decided to the gradient on each nail as I felt it would be more of a challenge to me! 

The next decision I had to make was which colours to go with! I went for green because it's one of my favourite colours. 

I put down a base coat first (Barbara Daly's Panache) and then I started sponging on the first colour (OPI's Jade Is The New Black) When I had that done it didn't really look that good and I was kind of like, this is not going to turn out well! But then I added the final colour (Barry M's Spring Green) and I felt that brought it together :)

For fun I added in a bit of sparkle with China Glaze's Fairy Dust.

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 4

Day 4

This is one of my favourite nail varnish purchases of the summer. It's such a beautiful green. It's not a grass green, or a turquoise tinged green or a mint green. To me I see it as a....I want to say a delph green but I don't think that makes any sense to anybody but me! Whatever kind of green it is, it's one of the nicest green shades I own. And that's saying a lot because I love green and have a lot of green nail varnishes!

OPI's Mermaid's Tears. Application was application and this is two coats.
