Sample Much?

I'm sure you have all gleefully taken samples out of magazines or relished samples that came with online orders. I always do. Then I put them away in my sample drawer. And I forget about them until it's time to put another sample in. 

Until Now! I've taken out the drawer, I've filled my shower with the shampoo and body wash samples. The body lotions/moisturisers/butters are lined up ready to be used. And I have make-up samples that I'd forgotton about, woot!

Let the sampling commence!

Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost

This was the very first Wet n Wild polish that I bought last summer. It's a perfect summer colour as it reminds me of holidays and turquoise seas. 

It's a more of a green than a blue. I found Wet n Wild to be surprisingly longlasting. I got 2 others while I was there but I'll definitely pick up more the next time I'm in the States!

E.O.T.D #3 feat. Urban Decay 15 Anniversary Palette

It has been so long since I have posted an eye look using the UD Anniversary palette. 

This time I went for a blue look.

 

To get this look I:

• Applied Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
• I used Deep End all over the lid
• Evidence on the outer lid
• Half-Truth was applied in the crease
• Flow was applied to the browbone
• Maybelline gel eyeliner was used on the upper lashline and to tighline
• Finally Maybelline Falsies mascara was used

I saw so many swatches of this before I bought it and I loved it. Even when I look at these pictures, I love it....but when I wear it? I don't really like it.

Why? I honestly don't know, it's hard to describe. It's like when I look at it on my nails, I feel a little bit underwhelmed - like I expected it to deliver more.

At least it looks pretty in pictures:)

Dior Waterlily

St. Patrick's Day could not pass without me showcasing a green nail polish! 

Dior Waterlily is a a new release as part of Dior's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. It is also my first ever nail varnish from Dior.

Waterlily is a light green nail varnish complete with subtle shimmer. There is definitely no blue in this green, yet I don't see a lot of yellow or brown in it. It really is just green.

 

This is also a scented polish but thankfully it's not a strong sickly sweet scent. It faintly smells of roses when the polish dries which isn't too bad at all.

As this was my first Dior nail polish I wasn't sure what the formula and application would be like. Thankfully it is a very workable formula, being neither too thin or thick. It applied lovely in two coats and wasn't streaky. 

Any Dior favourites? I feel I never really hear a lot about them!

So we are at the beginning of the end. The last nail polish brand I have to show you is of course OPI. I fell head over heels for OPI and I now have more OPI than any other brand. I've divided them up into 3 separate posts, so we still have 2 weeks to go:)

My Everyday Make-Up Must Haves

This is only something that I began to do a few months ago after seeing a number of YouTubers and bloggers doing it. Basically it's keeping all the daily make-up essentials together, for ease of use. I don't know how I didn't cop on quicker to do it myself but there you go. 

So here is what I will use on any given day. 

Overview of the little desk organiser I use for this purpose. (It's actually supposed to be used flat like the picture below but I prop it up this way so that it is like a little shelving system).

How it's supposed to be laid out.

The First Shelf

• In the first little compartment of the first shelf I keep my most used eye bases. This is Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Eden and Mac Paint Pot in Bare Study. 
• The middle compartment contains my face primer (Laura Mercier Primer), foundation (Chanel Perfection Luminére) and concealer (Bobbi Brown creamy concealer duo).  
• The last compartment is home to my under-eye concealer (Bare Minerals Well-Dressed), gel eyeliner (Maybelline Gel eyeliner) and a mini setting spray (Urban Decay All Nighter). 

The Second Shelf

• This contains a setting powder I'm trying to finish (MAC MSF in Natural) 
• A highlighter (MAC MSF in Redhead)  
• A powder compact (Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte)

The Third Shelf

• The final shelf contains one of my favourite blushes (Benefit Dandelion)
• My brow kit (Urban Decay Brow Box) 
• A pencil sharpener duo (Urban Decay Grind House) 
• A little pot of concealer I'm trying to finish (MAC Studio Fix Concealer - I Back2Mac'd the original container!)
• 2 pencil eyeliners (Urban Decay 27/7 eyeliners) 
• Finally 2 mascaras (Maybelline Cat Eyes and Falsies)

And that is what I will reach for most days. Obviously I change things like what blush or highlighter I will use but it's handy to have go to ones ready at hand. I don't have any eyeshadows in there because for one thing they won't fit and also I change what I shadow I use every day.
